Smith and Wesson Registered Magnum Revolver

The first .357magnum revolver in the world.The gun was introduced in 1935.It came in barrel lengths of .3in .5in .6in and .8 3/4in.The example shown here is a .6in model.It was built on the "N"frame The companies largest frame at the time.And was considered the best revolver on the market.Even law enforcement took a look at it.Production ceased during World War 2.When Smith and Wesson had to make guns for the war effort.Production resumed after the war.And in the 1950s the company went over to the model number system.This gun becam known as The Model 27.
